The online escape room you play on your TV

Tonight, swap your next episode for a mystery. The big screen (a laptop plugged into the TV) shows the room, and everyone joins on their phone and gets their own clues. Together on the couch, or each in your own home.

How it works

How to play an online escape room on your TV

The big screen (a laptop plugged into the TV) shows the room, and the phones hide the clues. Nothing to install: you're playing in two minutes.

  1. Open the game on the big screen

From a laptop plugged into the TV (HDMI cable or screen mirroring), or just a laptop. A QR code and a game code appear.

  2. Everyone joins on their phone

You scan, pick a name, flip your card. Each player gets a role and a tool.

  3. Search, talk, unlock

The room video plays on the TV, then you search it with a flashlight. Documents arrive on the phones: you pool them to find the code.

What testers say

  • Honestly, it was great, we had a blast! We were even a little sad when it ended. The puzzles are really well balanced: tricky enough that you don't crack them right away, but never impossible.

The concept

A real escape room, without leaving the couch

Escape & Chill makes online escape rooms designed for the living room. Just like in a real escape room, you have about an hour and a half to search rooms, link clues together and open combination locks. The difference: the room shows up on your TV, first as video and then in 3D, and every player holds part of the solution on their phone.

It is a cooperative multiplayer game for 1 to 4 players, recommended from age 12: nobody has all the information, so you have to talk to each other to make progress. You can play at home with friends or family, and also remotely, each in front of their own screen on a video call. There is no app to install: a browser is enough, on the TV as well as on the phones.

The first room of every case is free. If you like the story, the person who hosts the game buys it once, and the other players join for free with the code shown on screen. Find out how a game works.

Online escape room FAQ

Is Escape & Chill legit?

Yes. Escape & Chill is made in France by Rémi Bouvant, a web developer based in Gardanne, near Marseille, and published by his registered sole proprietorship (French business ID SIRET 904 286 713 00014), known as Victoire Digital. There is nothing to ship: the game opens in your browser right after you buy it. Payment goes through Stripe (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) and the invoice is emailed to you. The first room is free, with no account and no credit card, so you can try before you pay. Questions? Get in touch through the Contact page and we'll reply by email. Access, warranty and refunds are covered in the terms of sale.

Do I need to install an app?

No. The big screen (a laptop plugged into the TV, or a phone mirrored to it) opens the game in the browser, and each player scans the QR code with their phone's camera. Players who join don't need an account.

Can we play remotely?

Yes. In "remote" mode, everyone watches the same video on their own screen and keeps their clues to themselves. You talk on whatever you normally use for calls: WhatsApp, Meet, Discord or anything else.

Does every player have to pay?

No. Only the person who hosts the game buys it, once. The others join for free with the code shown on the TV.

Can I play solo?

Yes, from 1 to 4 players. Playing solo or as a pair, you take on several roles, so you get more documents.

Is the online escape room free?

The first room of every case is free, with no account and no credit card: the video, the 3D search and the puzzle. If you want the rest, the person who hosts the game buys it once.
